Floral Pottery Line

John writes,
"I started out doing the inlaid floral pieces first. My initial attempt was to capture the area with the rustic mountains and cactus and rocks and those colors and work with those within the confines of a perfect shape. That was my initial idea and what I've continued working with. There's nothing sticking outside of the silhouette; it's all contained within a perfect line."

"My idea on the Treasure series -- which is the Raku -- is that the pieces reminded me of digging up something from an archeological dig. Not trying to imitate anything, but just like a treasure."

"I'd like to get into more abstract pieces that look like they form a function, yet they don't. Kind of odd objects that look like they would have been used 100 years ago, but there's really no explanation for them."
